OMG C4I standardisation

In the ITCM framework, commercially available products such as groupware and document management applications will be integrated into a single component based standardised information system. The integration will be carried out according to OMG specifications in COBRA architecture. The resulting system can be tailored according to case specific requirements by adding in or leaving out some of the components. Components in the primary configuration may also be replaced by software provided by other vendors.

The ITCM product will consist of three elements

• Standard interoperability framework for software and hardware components
• Validated primary configuration based on commercially available components
• Capability to deliver the system as an up-and-running infrastructure including the necessary network and client hardware

The primary features:

• Secure Intranet services with comprehensive groupware and document management features
• Communication services for accessing resources in the Internet
• Real-time shared operational picture exchange system in the crisis area with decision support information
