The ITCM project facilitates a more common understanding of the challenges in field operations and promotes initiatives, which enhance interagency connectivity and a more coherent international response. The project focuses on the recognition that an effective response to crisis requires intensified inter-agency and cross-border co-operation as well as interoperability of systems between the responding organisations. ITCM advocacy and network-building activities provide a unique possibility for key governmental, private and NGO actors to meet and explore how the application of new ICT-solutions can best support international crisis management efforts. To improve the capacity of the international community in practice, the project facilitates standardisation and the development of crisis management tools.
